League Rules

All rules are centered around maintaining pace of play, simplicity, and keeping the rounds fun yet competitive.

BREAKFAST BALL

  • Two balls allowed off the first tee but is not mandatory unless a declaration is made prior to round.

PENALTIES

Out of Bounds

  • All OB (white stakes) played lateral at where the ball crossed the boundary. Player drops with a stroke penalty.

  • Reteeing is an option if initial shot is from the tee. Player would be hitting 3 off the tee.

Lost Ball

  • Drop at a location that best represents where the ball was thought to be lost.

  • At least one other member must support the drop location.

  • There are no free drops (Gentleman’s, Gallery Balls, etc.).

  • All balls that can’t be found should be considered lost with a one stroke penalty.

Water Hazard

All water hazards should be played as red stakes unless otherwise noted. This leaves 3 choices

  • Draw line from point of entry into hazard to the pin and go backwards away from hole.

  • Drop on line of flight from where the ball was hit. Can go all the way back to where the original shot was played.

  • Drop within two club lengths of where the ball went in no closer to the hole.

  • Utilize drop zones where appropriate (there are currently no known drop zones at Green Crest).

Gimmies

  • There should be no assumed gimmies. Everything should be putted out unless a member of the group gives the putt.

  • No gimmies for par or better

  • Be cognizant when giving out gimmies. It may not impact you but could impact someone in another group.

Mudball

  • Mud on a ball that is excessive can be removed prior to hitting the next shot when approved by a playing partner.

  • After cleaning, drop ball knee high within 12 inches of where it was picked up within the same playing surface.

  • Wet mud is considered casual water and the ball can be dropped backwards on a straight line from ball to pin at the nearest point of relief.

Fairways

  • Pick, clean, and place on fairways.

Any situations not covered above do your best within the playing group to make a ruling. Discussions will be had after the round and any necessary clarifications needed will be added to the rules.

Nassau

Nassau is played each Sunday. Participating is optional. Must have a USGA GHIN handicap to participate. League members only in the Nassau.

Sunday Nassau - $10/$10/$10 (Front/Back/Overall)

  • First place takes pot on each.

  • Second place winnings are based on number of participants.

    • 0-5: $0

    • 6-11: $10

    • 12-18: $20

    • 18-24: $30

After Round Beer

It is good practice for the winner of the overall Nassau to purchase a round of beers for all those that they spanked out on the course that day.

RSVP's

All members must reply to the most recent league group chat with their intent to play by 12:00 noon EST on the Wednesday prior to the weekend's tee time unless otherwise specified. Any member who fails to respond or give a answer stating their intent to play will not have their spot guaranteed after aforementioned deadline. It is best practice to respond in some way to indicate receipt of the text so that league founders are aware of your current thought process (i.e. "Not Sure" or "Maybe"). After the 12:00 noon deadline, all spots will then be filled on a first come first serve basis by both members and guests alike.
